What Is Summer Reading Club?

Summer Reading Club is a seven-week program that celebrates and encourages reading. Each branch will host a variety of weekly programs. Participants can register and receive SRC materials, attend weekly programs at any of the branches, and attend special events and celebrations throughout the summer.

There is no required reading to participate in Summer Reading Club. When you register, you will create an online account where you may keep a reading log, write reviews, recommend books to others, and record your participation in Summer Reading Club events. We will also be playing games all summer where reading certain kinds of books can help you to win prizes.

We encourage everyone to attend the programs and activities that interest them. We do recommend that you follow the age suggestions for each program. If you can't attend programs, you can stay involved in SRC by visiting the library, checking out books and other materials, collecting weekly stickers, and completing the SRC activities for your age group.

Everyone who registers for SRC can visit the library after July 1 to pick up a free general admission ticket to Library Night at the Arkansas Travelers. Game day is July 20.

About Beanstack

beanstack

CALS has partnered with Beanstack, an easy-to-use, mobile-friendly app which offers age-appropriate book recommendations for kids, teens, adults, and families, based on your interests and background.
