Digital Magazine Library

Available Now!

Newsweek, Popular Science, Rolling Stone, and Dwell. These are just a few of the popular publications available digitally from Central Arkansas Library System (CALS), beginning August 5. The library is offering a new free service, Zinio, to make more than 60 magazine titles available to CALS patrons in a digital format.

Zinio, named Best New Database of 2012 by Library Journal, creates better ways for people to discover published content, get more out of it, and do more with it. Zinio provides the ability to search inside, read, share, save, and purchase digital content to read on any screen. Readers can move within each publication page between text, interactive graphics, animated illustrations, video, and more.

Using the Service

Note: Patrons will create a total of TWO (2) accounts; a Library Collection account to check out magazines; and a Reader account to read checked out magazines via streaming online with computers and/or downloaded offline via mobile apps.

First-time user? Need to set up your CALS Zinio account? Download the Setup and Checkout Guide to prepare your account.

Apply Online for a Library Card

Pulaski or Perry County residents can request a library card by completing an online application or at any CALS library. Your library card will be mailed to your home address and photo identification must be presented to complete the application process.

A parent or legal guardian should accompany minors who do not have photo identification. If you live in a nearby county ask about the Gateway Project. If you are not a resident of Pulaski or Perry County or of any of the counties that participate in the Gateway Program, you may purchase a nonresident library card for the fee of $60 per year.
