EVENT SPECIALIST – Full time. CALS (Central Arkansas Library System) Ron Robinson Theater is seeking a professional and flexible team player to ensure the smooth running of events within the theater. Primary tasks include representing CALS as the primary on-duty staff member for events in the theater, supervising event staff, handling event logistics and interacting in a friendly, enthusiastic, energetic and outgoing manner with clients and guests. Candidate must have excellent communication skills and be able to work a very flexible schedule that includes night and weekend hours. Candidate must be able to stand long periods of time and can lift up to 50lbs. Some A/V experience preferred. Starting salary from $11.84/hr. with excellent benefits. CHILDREN'S PROGRAMMER / LIBRARY ASSISTANT – Central Arkansas Library System Children’s Library and Learning Center seeks an energetic, youth-focused applicant with experience working with young children especially in an educational or enrichment setting. College degree in a related field preferred. Knowledge of early childhood education and children’s literature is desired. Ideal candidate will present interactive early literacy and story-time programs for babies, toddlers, and preschool-aged children and their caregivers as well as enriching library programs for children of all ages. In addition to programming responsibilities, the programmer will provide excellent customer service to library patrons of all ages. Working cooperatively with library staff is essential. PROGRAMMING COORDINATOR – The programming coordinator organizes activities of the CALS (Central Arkansas Library System) Butler Center for Arkansas Studies. This person coordinates all aspects of Butler Center events – including booking and working with speakers and performers – maintains the Butler Center mailing list database, maintains website and Facebook content, helps create a newsletter, sends email and social media notifications, works with CALS Communications and Public Relations staff members regarding message strategies, helps produce the weekly Radio CALS broadcast and related podcasts, and works with other Butler Center staff members on various initiatives.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and experience in events and web-based resources preferred; experience in digital audio production preferred; ability to prioritize tasks and work collaboratively as well as independently and excellent writing skills required; familiarity with Arkansas history and geography extremely helpful.

LIBRARY ASSISTANT II – Full-time public service position in the Information Services Department, Central Arkansas Library System. Responsibilities include assisting public in locating and interpreting reference and information sources, using library computers, software and internet resources, conducting library tours, providing support for the system’s Digital Services, coordinating and creating displays, and developing programs pertaining to graphic design software included in the Adobe Creative Cloud apps. Familiarity with technology, digital media, ability to do instructional assistance on devices, and excellent communication and customer service skills are required. Ability to handle challenges with ease and a good attitude is essential. College degree preferred. Schedule will include some nights and weekends. . LIBRARY PAGE & TEMPORARY POSITIONS
Pages are part-time positions, sorting and shelving materials. Must be able to lift 20 lbs. Must be able to reach all shelving with aid of a kick stool. Must have some knowledge of computers. Evening and Saturday hours may be required. Sunday hours may be required for Main and Children's Library. Spanish language skills preferred. Contact individual location for specifics. $8.50/hr.
