Public Relations Assistant – The Central Arkansas Library System is seeking a full time public relations assistant to assist the Communications department team in all aspects of workflow with focus in graphic design and social media. Duties include creating professional, accurate, and appealing materials in all types of environments including print and online platforms. Candidate will need to be proficient in InDesign and Photoshop software and possess good creativity, interpersonal and problem solving skills. Communications or English degree preferred. Salary $11.84 / hour plus excellent benefits. Librarian I / Branch Manager – Hillary Rodham Clinton Children's Library and Learning Center – The Central Arkansas Library System is seeking a team-oriented, experienced librarian to lead our Children’s Library and Learning Center. The facility and extensive grounds include a theater, teaching kitchen, greenhouse, garden and urban farming space, a recording studio, and areas for making/tinkering and hands-on learning in addition to the more traditional library spaces. The library serves a diverse population from across the city. Candidates must possess strong customer service and interpersonal skills and an enthusiasm for working with people of all ages and backgrounds. Responsibilities include administering day-to-day library operations; training, supervising, and evaluating staff; overseeing and coordinating extensive programming offerings for children and teens; and outreach to the community. Knowledge of children's literature and experience working with children is essential. An ALA-accredited MLS or comparable degree, or significant work towards such a degree, is required. Candidate must have at least 3 years prior library supervisory experience. Schedule will include some weekends. Salary depending on experience plus excellent benefits. Pages are part-time positions, sorting and shelving materials. Must be able to lift 20 lbs. Must be able to reach all shelving with aid of a kick stool. Must have some knowledge of computers.
