Youth Programmer - Music Specialist/ Library Assistant II – Children’s Library seeks an energetic, youth-focused candidate with skills or experience related to teaching or performing music. Knowledge or experience with recording or music/video editing is desired. Ideal candidates will have the ability to design and present music-related programs for a variety of age groups as well as the ability to work cooperatively with organizations and presenters to utilize the performance and recording spaces in the library. Management of the musical instrument lending program is also required. In addition to programming responsibilities, the programmer will provide excellent customer service to library patrons of all ages. Working cooperatively with library staff is essential. LANDSCAPING SUPERVISOR – Central Arkansas Library System is seeking a full-time Landscape Supervisor to schedule, supervise, and work with landscaping personnel and contractors to maintain grounds of 14 library facilities. DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR – Central Arkansas Library System (CALS) is seeking a qualified person to lead its development office. The Development Director creates, executes, and oversees all aspects of fundraising efforts in the CALS development office to meet the pre-determined fundraising goals as established by the Executive Director and the Central Arkansas Library System (CALS) Foundation Board; generates private and corporate contributions to build endowments and supplement operating funds; and support the library's strategic plan, goals and objectives. The Director oversees the donor information management process; plans and implements special events, annual giving, grants, major gifts and planned giving programs; works with appropriate staff to identify grant opportunities and assists staff in writing of grants.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. A qualified applicant must have the equivalent of a four year college degree, plus 5 years related experience and/or training, and 5 years related management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. The successful candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and superb organizational skills. The person must also have the ability to present information effectively to management, public groups, and boards of directors. Total compensation package is based on proven development experience and the ability to accomplish strategic fundraising goals.

You will be responsible for financial statement preparation and consolidation, account analysis and reconciliations, budgets and forecasting, annual audit preparation, and internal control maintenance. LIBRARIAN I / BRANCH MANAGER – Hillary Rodham Clinton Children's Library and Learning Center –
The Central Arkansas Library System is seeking a team-oriented, experienced librarian to lead our Children’s Library and Learning Center. The facility and extensive grounds include a theater, teaching kitchen, greenhouse, garden and urban farming space, a recording studio, and areas for making/tinkering and hands-on learning in addition to the more traditional library spaces. The library serves a diverse population from across the city. Candidates must possess strong customer service and interpersonal skills and an enthusiasm for working with people of all ages and backgrounds. Responsibilities include administering day-to-day library operations; training, supervising, and evaluating staff; overseeing and coordinating extensive programming offerings for children and teens; and outreach to the community. Knowledge of children's literature and experience working with children is essential. An ALA-accredited MLS or comparable degree, or significant work towards such a degree, is required. Candidate must have at least 3 years prior library supervisory experience. Schedule will include some weekends. Salary depending on experience plus excellent benefits. MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN –

Electrical, plumbing, or HVAC certification/expertise preferred. Ability to work in team-oriented, task-sharing environment essential. Starting from $12/hr., depending on experience. Bachelor degree in Business, Marketing or Management with at least 5 years’ experience in a café or bookstore is preferred. Knowledge with managing online marketplaces required. Candidate should also possess strong interest in books and authors and have excellent customer service, organizational and interpersonal skills. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. SECURITY MANAGER – Central Arkansas Library System is seeking a full-time Security Manager responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for patrons, employees and property by establishing and enforcing security policies and procedures; emergency management, and supervising the security team. Duties include controlling all aspects related to parking and the parking deck, building rapport with local police, social workers, and community mental professionals and advocates, and communicating with administration, branch manager, and public service staff to establish procedures that encourage patron compliance with rules of conduct while minimizing adversarial confrontations. Candidate will need to have an aptitude for technology, strong organization, interpersonal and excellent communication both oral and written, and knowledgeable in emergency management. Bachelor degree along with at least 5 years of supervisory experience in a hospital or school setting preferred. Salary $55,000.00 plus excellent benefits.

Library Assistant I – part-time, 20 hours/week, public service position at Williams Library. Responsibilities include checking materials in and out, answering patron questions, registering patrons for library cards, some information searching and shelving. Familiarity with technology, digital media, ability to do instructional assistance on devices, and excellent communication and customer service skills are required. Must be able to work well with children and teens and cooperatively with staff and public. Familiarity with children’s literature and experience with children’s programming desirable.
