Board of Trustees

CALS is an independent agency. It is not a department or agency of the cities or counties in which it operates libraries. The participating governmental bodies cede their library authority to a single, thirteen-member Board of Trustees.

The Board of Trustees is composed of seven residents of the City of Little Rock (appointed by the Little Rock Board of Directors), two Pulaski County residents (appointed by the Pulaski County Quorum Court), one Perry County resident (appointed by the Perry County Quorum Court), and one resident each of the cities of Jacksonville, Sherwood, and Maumelle, appointed by their respective city governing boards. Trustees may serve two full three-year terms. The present members of the Board of Trustees are as follows:
