Full time employees of CALS work 40 hours per week, but institutional demands may sometimes require increased work hours. Because compensatory time accumulations can have adverse system-wide budget consequences, overtime work shall be scheduled only in rare circumstances, and managers shall monitor staff work hours to ensure that employees do not accumulate excessive comp time balances.

Non-Exempt employees who work more than 40 hours per week shall, at their option, receive pay or compensatory time at a rate of one and one-half hours for each hour worked in excess of 40 hours per week.

Exempt employees who work more than 40 hours per week will be compensated by receiving compensatory time off on an hour-for-hour basis.
